How fast is 1RandyC's S2000?
Shaner,
my Mugen ECU is sold to viscreal2000 and he will also receive my BYS straight pipe.
Mugen ECU will not add more hp or change vtec point or limitor but it does help quite a bit in others because of the change in the program and powercut protection disable. When my car was running in prime with ECU in, I had surprising kick at 2nd gear vtec that I never experienced before. That happened when I was tinkering with the Fuel pressure regulator and running rich.
Mugen ECU will considerablely solve the bogging problem in the low-end and give you decent boost as well, you will like it very much. Stomp on the gas pedal without revving and you will immediately know what I mean. Beside the power delivery was very consistent even with the a/c on which I know and you guys know that in the hot days with a/c on the car runs considerably slow.
The draw back is obviously the price and also my reason to sell which is the disfunction of the immobilizer. It is quite odd to myself that I spent lot of money on stuff and never gave a thought in spending some wisely on the anti-theft devices. But since the day one when I found out about the stop in the immobilizer function I grew little uneasy and sometimes paranoid leaving my car parked. I know it is stupid and odd but I do miss the Mugen ECU very much and probably when the summer comes around I will buy myself one again along with some security protections by then.
I know the price is bit high but this is a separate ECU and not worked on your existing one so you can always go back to the stock state if you want. I wish all of you get chance to actually see and feel what this Mugen ECU can do because I know for sure you will like it once you test it yourself if the price is non-issue. Acutally installation and removal is quite easy so, you can actually test it by using it on other cars and you can easily pop back the stock ECU and your car will get back to normal without a problem.
On the word of the BYS straight pipe, of course this is no good without the modded ECU like Mugen and I've reported to you a while back. There is some power gain but bare in mind if cat in any car is removed you will suffer gas mileage considerably.
Shaner, I wish you luck with the ECU and the pipe and I can't wait to hear from you of your impression. Viscreal2000 alredy is very happy with the Mugen ECU and I am sure you will be too once you take the test drive(give it some time and mileage). Also he said resetting the Mugen ECU made it better.(probably my setting was still intact)

Thank you for the detailed message 1RandyC!
The only thing about the Mugen ECU is that it will be run along with my supercharger for the first time, so I won't see solely the effects of the ECU. I wasn't going to worry about the immobilizer because I have my alarm cutting off the starter and fuel pump in a normally open circuit (which means if the alarm is removed or defeated the starter and pump still don't start).
I was hoping to maximize my supercharger increase with the BYS pipe, Mugen ECU, Mugen headers, Comptech exhaust, throttle body bore, extrude/honed intake, and custom dual cold-air intakes... so to make maximum non-turbo/non-NOS rear-wheel horsepower...
Plus, doing all of this work myself has been a lot of fun and a major stress reliever after most days at work...
Last question/comment: With my Mugen ECU being without power for a month or two, why would I need to clear it? How would I go about resetting the ECU as you stated had to be done with yours?
Thanks again for all of your time!

I know nothing about the Mugen S2K program, but i do know that most ecu upgrades, and the mugen chip for gsr motors, advance timing to make power. This will not be a good idea for a supercharged car, especially with 11.0:1 compression. You might want to think abotu using that ecu with a comptech supercharger
I'll try it with the stock ECU and then with the Mugen and see what happens... I thought the Mugen (not just a chip, replaces entire ECU) just had a more aggressive fuel/air mapping without concern for emissions...
