Well my vote was for 121-130 area, but i just got back from a trip to Guymon, OK in the panhandle. Needless to say, there is a stretch of nothing for about 2 hours out there. I had a passenger(male) and luggage in the trunk. I was able to hit 150 then I slowed down because of an oncoming hill. I still had plenty of room on the tach to go, and I could easily see our car hitting 160+ with no passenger and downhill.

Changing the size of the wheels will not help - the speedo is not based on actual car speed but rather driveshaft speed.
Actually, larger diameter tires will hurt your indicated speed, b/c it effectively gives you taller gearing. Smaller dia. tires would produce a higher indicated speed, all other things being equal.

I've hit 140mph with no problem at all, and wouldn't have difficulty believing 160 stock from some cars given they are going to vary from car to car.
so he does have some tricks up his sleeves

anyway, I max out at ~130, fast enuff
