I hit 125 driving cross country this past summer, Rt 40 in east colorado, absolutely nothing around. I could've pushed it harder, but i realized
1) My car is fully loaded with crap (I was moving, my trunk was FULL)
2) my cars been running constantly for 8 hours
3) If I hit ANYTHING on this road, even like a board on the road, it's bad news, esp. since it was a back road, i don't think i'd be discovered for hours
4) I was at like 5000 AGL, so my engine was sucking some thin air, keeping me from going too much faster anyways

I got this guy in my office who is so straight-laced he makes Doogie Howser look like Ozzy Osboune. I mean this guy is Ward Cleaver. He drives a 88 Brown Buick. One day he needed a ride to the airport (lucky he had only a overnight bag) and instead of having an office admin give him a ride I offered just so I could get out and put the top down (it was sunny day).

We hit the on-ramp doing about 90 and continued on up to about 110. He was white as a ghost and kept swearing at me...something about "sweet jesus" or "jesus christ" . I think he thought he would fly up and out of the open cockpit!

Long story short.....he...doesnt...talk..to..me..anymore.

135 with the top down... not too much more acceration from it though (and I was rapidly catching up with the Integra that had passed me a minute or so earlier)
