Default How to keep from being gouged

I KNOW I want to get the 04 S2K!

How do I get a good deal at a dealership if they see that I already know what I want?
The dealership told me that to get on the waiting list, I have to put down a deposit. This obviously means I'm committed to buying the car...
If you put yourself on the waiting list aren't you losing all your bargaining power???
What have yall done?

Bargaining power? Hmm...on the new '04 model, every dealership around here is going to hold every penny of profit because it's new. If they have a waiting list, then there is some demand for that vehicle in your area and most likely the price will be close to MSRP. If you decide to put a deposit on the 2004, definitely negotiate a price beforehand. Good luck in your search!

Bargain before you put yourself on the list. Get the price you want first and then give em your deposit.

Deposits are most often times refundable...

Well, you can try to do a purchase through the internet. Most of the times, tehy will give you a better deal then if you go in and deal with a sales person. The internet manager dont make commission like the sales person will, so most of the times you can get it cheaper. Always worth a try

Best of luck and stick to your guns. Even if it takes 6 months, you can get what you want
