rev your engine up to 6k and dump the clutch. pretty effective, but hard on your car. hope it helps

I am surprised that no one has given an answer yet.
Perhaps experience is the best method of learning.
From my experience, I'd say to hold the engine between 6000 and 7000 rpm and then just drop the clutch.
Some say you must move your foot to the side, or the clutch will not grab properly.(But I have had no problems with this)
The temp of the air and the road will also change the "sweet spot"
I suggest to not try this too often, unless you like buying new drivetrains.

Very carefully

Really this car is not easy to launch.

I have only done so maybe 10 times in the year and a half I owned the car.

4 times it was awesome. 7000rpms...side step clutch, some wheelspin and I'm gone!!

6 times it was 7000rpms...too slow on the clutch...hit 9000rpms...awful smell...creep away.

I prefer to just do a normal street start and play catch-up. Can still pass a Stang GT(90-02) or a older 93-97 (read: LT1) Gomara z28/SS by 80mph or so. LS1/Z28/SS/Vette you had better nail the launch if you want to be able to read his license plate...as he pulls away

Really forget about launching...drop the top, and hit some twistys, that is what this car was made for.

Wanna drag race? Buy a V8.

This is a good point, considering that the S2000 was not a purpose-built straight-line drag racer. But:
A)I wanted to know so I could do it on my own, perhaps on a closed course for my own enjoyment without doing a trial-and-error and doing more than necessary damage to my drivetrain.
B)There is no way a person can completely explain how to take an apex in an S2k over a forum- It takes in-car explanation and demonstration.

But again, good point.

i disagree with you saab, i think you can sucessfully tell someone about hitting an apex online or on paper. but the true art is in actually doing it. I'm not saying I can do it in my s, but I can do it everylap in my shifterkart.
