HOW LONG!
I was kind of in the same situation as yourself, i was 19 at the time and i wanted a auto 350z, kind of a different story then the S but my dad was saying all this crap, he wanted new so i just got an altima coupe. i drove that thing for 2 years then gave it to my bro and bought myself, with my own money a s2000.
Have you ever drove manual? How many cars had you driven? What type of cars?
Seems like you dad will say something if you modify your "future" S if you get it. Just get whatever your dad is willing to buy for you and buy yourself a S when you can afford one.

My father is willing to buy anything up to 25k, But i the only real choices i have are a 300C, subi sti, 350z's, or some new muscle car and the S2000. like really this is supposed to be a community, and shouldnt you welcome/warm/give suggestions to a person tryin to come in??? only a couple of you have told me useful stuff and i thank you for that, but the others who discourage are being mad douchbags. I want the s2000 but ofcourse ill be happy with anything i get, i just wanted to see if i put up a valid point to my dad about the engine last.
and yes i have driven manuals: 1992 Acura Integra Gsr, 1994 honda civic , 2001 honda civic
Automatics: 2005 ford expedition, 2004 ford focus, 2001 ford lightening (supercharged) i did haul ass in that one though haha and a 1999 ford f-150 which has been my main car for awhile

none of your cars are anything like the s2000. If you do get it, I suggest you really learn how to drive a RWD sports car. Good luck. I got mine when I was 21, paid for by myself. Learn the car on a wide open road..seriously.
