At this point I only have about 2300 miles on my S2K.
I realize that the answer to my question is dependent upon the type of driving I do, which could probably be decribed as moderate.

What's been your experience?

Seems like people who drive moderately are able to get around 15k out of the rears.

I have almost 14K on the rears and I drive pretty easy for the most part. I still have some tread left, but I'm sure to be at the back of the pack in Asheville

Got over 14k with lots of hard driving (vtecing, top-ending, etc.) and still plenty of tread.

With performance comes a price. My motorcycles are much worse.

The road conditions also play a large part in how long the last, as well as how you drive.

I am at 16700, and I think I can easily hit 19k - 20k before replacing the rears...The fronts seem to be as good as new...

All of my 16K+ driving has been on street or highway...no track time....

I definitely plan to hit the a track or two this summer, probably with some new slicks...

The SO2's are what are called "stickies" what a ride. Even under the mildest driving don't expect more the 15K. If you drive a lot of twisties or track time that can be reduced to 5K very quickly. Considering I was changing tires on my sportbike every 500 miles (Angeles Forest Highway ) I think 5K is great!!
