Called the dealer and he said they had 6-7 to choose from, drove down, gave them cash and took the one off the showroom floor. I don't know why people order them, they're a dime a dozen at most dealerships.

 

When I purchased mine, delivery times were usually within a day or two of ordering the car, providing it was any colour except Spa Yellow. Since I wanted a Spa Yellow, and ended up getting what I believe was the last truly available Yellow S2000 in Canada, I had to wait about 2.5 months for mine. Order was placed in June of this year, and delivery took place on August 25th. Talk about two months of sleepless nights and excitement!

Crazy...you guys are all lucky. I called the 5 closest dealers to my home and none of the 5 had any on the floors. Probably because the '02 is just coming out? who knows...ah well few more days won't kill me..i hope

 

go shopping for convertibles in January or February. My Honda dealer had three 2001 S2000s. The porsche dealer next door even had 2 boxster S's on the lot

 

started looking in may 2001 and bought may 2001 - they are everywhere in california.

 

Mine was about a week, but only by chance. I ordered around the 3rd of September 2000, my car was supposed to be MY2001 and come in after about 10 weeks, but then a week later they called me and said they just had a guy back out of his MY2000 Silverstone. Went in that day and picked it up!

 

Obviously this thread is geared toward '02 owners, because I (and many '00 and '01 owners) waited upwards of a year to get our hands on an S2000. . .

For me, 10 months was the wait. . . Annoying but worth it

 

Not counting the "dreaming time", I drove the car on a Wednesday and drove it home the following Saturday.

 

I only waited eight months!! I had to laugh when I saw "upwards of 60 days." I ordered the first '01 from Koons of Manassas in July 2000. Mine was the second Spa yellow they received in March, but the first to sell. I can't believe someone could turn down that S2000.

 

After considering the Boxster, but after reading about the S2000, I told the local Honda dealer owner (friend/patient of fam. prac. colleague) I wanted one, some 9 months or so before he received the first one to his dealership ever. That's the one I got one day in September, 1999.
