I wonder who the first S2000 owner in the USA is and are they a member of this site?

It's probably a Honda dealer.

Any ideas?

 

Don't know but in Asheville (S2K Days 01) they asked who was the first to take delivery of their S2000. Scot was the winner.

Also, every dealer only got 2 in for the first month.

 

Every dealer got ONE the first month.. some smaller dealers did not get their second car until months later. Although there were specific instructions not to sell cars until the dealer introduction in SF was finished, a few dealers sold a couple days early.

 

Chris (cdelena), my dealer got 2 in at first... my red and a black one that got scalped by the #2 guy.

I got my car on 9/20/99 (confirmed by a walk to the garage).

I think some western folks got theirs as early as 9/17/99.?

Looks like you guys beat me. I got mine on 9/30/99.

A friend of mine that works for Honda corporate out here in Torrance used to drive the S2K around before it was even out. He used to get a ton of stares from people when he would take it out for lunch.

I drove over to Capital Honda in San Jose Ca. the Friday in September (the 17th?) 1999 that the S2000s were delivered to all dealers, and watched them drive them off the truck. This dealer got at least three that I remember, and maybe four or five. I went into their garage and looked them all over, my first look in the flesh. The next day I was at the dealership in Vacaville where I had the #1 spot on the list, and bought my silver/red #0144. The # each dealer got depended on their volume of sales of other Hondas, or so I was told.
