[QUOTE=specialk22tt,Apr 21 2006, 07:00 PM] I've noticed lately that when I shift at high rpms the clutch has been slipping like crazy.

59k w/minor slippage at high rpm shifts due to CDV.

35k miles; it rattles and buzzes like a <expletive-deleted> Yugo when I let off the gas.

Got a couple of smelly roasting in its youth, (6000+ rpm take offs) but 54000 miles and still going strong...

X2 at 30K. I think I'll miss the buzz if I ever have to replace the clutch.

I won't. Mine has gotten so bad I don't drive the car if I think I might have to drive with the top up. It is LOUD and irritating. I"m 55 years old, and this is the worst-built car I've ever owned.

The noise has to go. The question I'm wrestling with is whether the car will have to go to achieve that, or will a new clutch fix it permanently. I've heard comments on this board to the effect that it may come back. I like the car and would like to keep it, but I'll be damned if I'm going to replace a clutch every 30k miles.

Just turned 19,000 miles this week, but have recently become boosted, so I don't know how much longer the OEM clutch will last. I do some autoXing, but just enjoy the car without doing clutch drops or anything crazy.

Amen brother. My clutch buzz is so insane I had to get the T1R70 just to cover up the noise

I can't wait for my clutch to go out so I can get a better one.

BTW if you change your clutch the noise will be gone. I'd get a non-OEM one and make sure it doesn't have brass synchros like we have now.
