good decision, that Porsche would have bled your wallet dry. Try the hardtop if you still don't like it you'll get more money on the sale with it should you decide to sell it. With a reduction in hardtop production you could always sell it down the road without too much effort. good luck, let us know how it goes.
Will do!

Maybe someone with a dB meter can give us a definitive answer to this question. Lol

I met up with another local AP1 owner some time back to compare our vehicles. I gave him a ride in my car with a hard top as he wanted to know what the difference was - his immediate reaction is that the cabin is quieter and that the engine is much more apparent.

I agree.

If you are honestly concerned with the noise level - possibly look into dynamatting the interior of the hardtop, doors, and chassis of the car?

That would cut down on noise substantially. Just remove the carpet, coat the interior, then remove the roof lining and coat that.

Thanks Again Gentlemen. I just went through a few weeks of indecision about trading the S for a Classic 80's 911. In the end the S won out. I am going to add the hardtop and keep driving my "almost perfect" S2k, keep the trunk that I can fit my golf bag and make up the difference I am paying for the top by saving on Porsche maintenance costs and down time.

Drive don't wrench. Thats my motto these days
I agree with this decision- drive dont wrench and I used to do all my own wrenching but, I'm getting too old and dont have enough time.
