6k is the magic #. Any less you'll bog and have a greater chance of blowing the diff.

i luanch at around 5.5 to 6.5k depending on the track. i autoX not drag. you WANT wheel spin. dump it at around vtec and keep it floored. as the wheels spin the engine will stay in it's powerband. the rest of the car will catch up in speed.
all this talk about dlowing up the diff within a few hard luanches is over exageration.
yes, there is a chance that you can pop the diff with hard luanches. and we have seen it many times here on s2ki.
but to say that it'll blow after xx amounts is full of bull. not every single S owner is on this forum and the amount of blown diff is relatively small compared to all the s2000's out in the world that are being beat on like a $5 hooker.
