Default how many consecutive times have you been pulled over and NOT given a ticket?

i've been lucky i guess, i have been pulled over 5 times and not once given a ticket although i must admit none of the offenses were that extreme.

1995 - vacaville, california, my corsica, driving home from work i try to make it though a yellow light before it turns red. didn't work, get pulled over but no ticket

1998 - honolulu, hawaii, again the corsica, get pulled over by a cop with one of those three wheeled police scooter thingys (you folks in honolulu know what iam talking about) for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. no ticket!

2001 - somewhere on the hawaiian island of kuai, 2001 dodge neon (rental car), pulled over for an illegal pass. i tried to pass a large cargo truck, the line was dotted but by the time the anemic four cylinder and three-speed automatic could muster any speed it was a double solid. received brief a$$ chewing from the police officer but no ticket

2002 - silverdale, washington, another corsica story, pulled over for an aftermarket exhaust that "might be to loud" and "blacked out" headlights. i revved the engine so he can hear the exhuast system and he agreed that it was ok and i agreed to take the headlight covers off and he let me go.

just recently - bremerton, washington, the s2000 this time, pulled over for not using my turn signal making a turn through an intersection and no front license plate. got off with a warning. haven't put the license plate back on and dont intend to.

anybody else as fortunate?

Only once

about 7 yrs ago in Palm Springs. I had my foglights on, in my old Honda Accord. Why? b/c there was a horrendous sand storm on the way out w/ but 2 feet of visibility. Cops waved me over once I got in town and gave me the 3rd degree about having my fogs on... but let me go. It was stupid.

Every other time I've been pulled over? Ticket.

Four consecutive times over 2 years.

3 times for no front plate, 1 for driving wrong way up a one way street to escape a blocked off road during Indy. I always treat cops politely. It seems to pay off most times.

BBY2KS2K, you know you've just jinxed yourself right? I did the same thing on the Australian board, posted that I hadnt been pulled over once in my S then got two speeding fines in the mail that week!

As for being polite to police, I always call the officer (male) sir but the other night I got told that I was being a smarta$$ by this copper! I said what do you want me to call you? I know what I was calling him on the inside would have got a nice reaction
You cant please everyone

In my personal experiences, I find that being polite and sucking up makes no difference to cops. Now, I just say as little as possible....

The only time I have not gotten a ticket is when they really had nothing to give me a ticket for but just wanted to stop someone for some reason. An example: a cop stopped me once because "I didn't come to a complete stop before leaving my driveway"

out of my total of 12 traffic tickets in my life, I've only been found guilty 4 times...that's gotta count for something!

In North Carolina if you get pulled, you get a ticket. At least that has been my experience. Now I go to the track to get my jollies!

The only "real" weapon I've ever been able to successfully use to avoid tickets is a PBA card. Even then it's not a guaranteed "get out of tickets free" card. Once I was caught speeding and I politely displayed my PBA card, and the cop simply wrote me up for the next lower speeding penalty, instead of the one I should've gotten.
Despite what some might tell you, police do have ticket quotas they have to meet. If you happen to be pulled over when a cop is filling his/her quota, you will be ticketed.

Unabageler, How is it that you get off so often. I live in Northern California and make it a policy to go to court for all my tickets. I never win the cases regardless of what I do. What is your secret?
