How many did a 2-1 shift instead of 2-3?

How did u do that?? I think that more force is to applied to go from 2 to 1, What I'm afraid the most is a 3-2 or maybe 5-4 but i don't think I would do a 2-1 excepted when I'm almost stopping at a stop or something ...

To go from 2 to 3 you just have to push the lever, I love that a lot!!! The same from 3 to 4!!

I also have more trouble shifting from 5 to 6 than 1-2 or 3-4.

I've done a 3 to 2 when going to 4 and a 5 to 3 when going to 6. No doubt about it, my fault. Just got sloppy. No damage done since I wasn't at 9000 RPM's when I made the errors. Not a fun feeling.

I have problems with 2-3. I either get hung up or it will go into 5. I rather err on the 5 side. This happens particularly on agressive acceleration. The Honda dealer did not note that as a problem and therefore did not fix it.

I used to do 5-4 instead of 5-6. More than as the revs aren't so critical. Maybe that's a RHD thing.

I don't do it so much now, so I think it's me improving rather than the tranny running in.

Your Stook did exactly what you asked for. It's a manual, it goes to the gear you put it in. Don't blame the car.

How do you work this out Lance? On track days I have had professional racing instructors drive my car and experience the same problem. These same drivers have probably driven 20+ S2000s at the same event and not experienced it on any other S2000.

The car has a manual transmission and the car cannot decide which gear it wants to be in.

Vincelio has it correct.
Straight up for 3
straight down for 4
If you think about it like that the rest will come easy!

2kturkey, your gearbox has a problem, check it with you dealer....
Normally, shifting from 2 to 3 on an S2000 is the easiest gear change I've ever enjoyed in any car I drove.
