30K on a clutch is not normal - could only be abused or poorly driven.
MY04 has 29K strong as new... though I'm considering an upgrade...

The clutch slipping started occuring roughly a week after the pedal itself started sticking at the top of being 'depressed'. It's hard to believe that it's a mere coincidence that the clutch gave up the ghost shortly thereafter. I believe something's causing the fork to not fully engage or disengage properly, leading to my horrible clutch pedal feel, and also wrecking havoc on my clutch disc. The dealer, unfortunately, claims that the pedal feel is a fork lubrication problem and has nothing to do with the premature cluch wear.
If everyone had a similar experience in that their clutches were going after 30k miles, I wouldn't feel so bad. Given what I'm reading here -- either I'm stuck dealing with the previous owner's abuse, or some failure has occured that has caused the disc to prematurely fail. I sincerely hope it's the latter, but I have no idea how I could go about proving this to the dealer and I certainly don't feel as though I should be responsible for a $1500-2000 repair item on a vehicle under warranty.
