Default How many NFR owners have trouble with cops?

I'm going to go test drive this 01 NFR in my area and if I like It I'll buy, but I'm kinda feeling sketch about it being a red sports car and me being a 21 y/o male. I don't know if I should get red... It's got 66,600 miles and they want $13.9k for it. I know I'm not going to drive like a maniac so I should be straight. I just want to see if anyone has had any bad experiences with the po-po (possibly because of the color being more eye catching)

No cop has ever singled me out because of the car, yet. I've never had a front plate on either. But then again, the car looks stock and I don't have an obnoxious exhaust or power mods.

i got my NFR in august.. i was 22, now 23. i had the same thoughts as you. i couldnt help wanting to buy it tho
suprisingly i have had no trouble whatsoever.
and ive added some "attnetion-getting" parts: invidia exhaust, tint and now black wheels
just drive safe and dont be stupid and you should be alright. cant get in trouble (too much ) for following the rules
undoubtedly you will be super tempted with this car to misbehave, but thats all up to you

i bought my NFR a year ago when i was 24. I've logged 20k miles on it, and a lot of the being "spirited" driving. Just keep things under wraps in the city, and stick to the 10mph rule on highways. Oh, and enjoy the looks you get in the s2000 (no matter what color)!

and ALWAYS keep fresh meats on it.

I had a NFR for 4 years now. Cali sucks! I got singled out once out of a line of cars crussing with traffic(actually there were cars going faster then I was), and the cop said I was going to fast(if you didn't know...having an NFR make you go fast all the time ).

I've also had a cop pull me over for what he claimed rolling a stop light(I took my foot of the brake but was still on the clutch and must have gone forward an inch). I asked why he didn't pull the car in front of me over because that guy never even fully stoped and slowed passed the line before accelerating on. Cops response(NO BS): "We were focused on you and not him. You stood out." SOB!

What a pain in the ass. You know, I heard a story about a guy getting pulled over by the Highway Patrol. Guy asked, "why did you pull me over out of all the cars I was running by with at the same speed?" Patrolman asks "ever go fishing? Guy says "sure." Patrolman asks "ever catch all the fish?"

BTW, it's not just the car or the color, its your age.

I think yellow stands out more than red - and I get hard stares all the time. Haven't been pulled over yet in this car. The first day I bought it I didn't even have plates on it! (I had expired temp NY State sticker in the windshield though.) Having said that, I've only owned my S for 1 summer.
At the end of the day, it's the luck of the draw.

If red is your thing, get it.

S2000 doesn't draw any attention from police in the north east.. I'm convinced they leave all cars with HIDs alone
