I started this topic 6 years ago with a poll on what year you bought your S new: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-ta...r-club-881869/

Quite a few of us wrote about our experiences.

I bought mine new Sept. 2000. And yes, I did pay a "Market Value Adjustment" fee: $40k. Today she sits with 28,500 miles. She was always garage kept, never in the rain and a second or third car.

I bought mine new January 20th, 2002. She's got some wear and tear from being my primary car in the Vegas heat, but I still love her as much as I did on day 1.

I guess that I'm disqualified. I bought my first one new from the dealer in November '99. Crashed that in '05. Bought an '04 with 4,700 miles in it two weeks later. But, 17+years of ownership must be somewhat remarkable.

Got mine in 10/99. One of the first ones to hit the states. Still love her and have no plans on getting rid of her. She has about 105k on her including a bunch of track days. Great car.

that's still not too bad. there were dealers when i moved to california in 2000 that were charging like you said $10k and some $15k when they came out. thinking that honda was only going to manufacture the S for one year which they wanted to do initially.

I’m an original owner. I bought my ‘03 in January of ‘03.
