**** man, how the hell do all these high school kids pay for these cars? When I was in high school, I walked everywhere. I worked part-time and finally saved enough to buy a 97 Prelude in cash in freshman year of college. Then another one in junior year of college. I work my ass off and still had to pay for insurance and other bills. I just turn 22 a month ago with 2 quarters away from graduation and now finally have enough to buy an AP1 in full + pay for other bills.

It just seems like more parents these days are spoiling their kids. If I have a kid, at most I'll give them is an old beater car like a corolla or something thats cheap as hell ($1000-2000) If they want a better car they better work their ass off and earn it themselves + pay for their own damn insurance because as we all know new driver + sport convertible = high rates.

Anyways I just had to vent....I guess I'm just jealous because I was not as privilege as some of these kids who got help from their parents. If you're in high school and you paid the car off yourself then I do give much respect to you. Anyways I hope they at least take care of their car and not wreck it because its just sad to see a wrecked S2K...
damn same here. i was able to purchase an 1989 crx during my senior year, with my own cash, and pay all my bills. graduated 03.

didnt get the S till after i graduated with a bachelor's degree. im not trying to sound jealous, cause my dad always wanted to buy me a car considering all the down time with the cricket. i have always strived for independence, and doing things on my own. life is harsh, and there will be a day when no one is there to take care of you.

if i was a parent, i would get my kid a 1990 miata, and tell 'em they better learn how to drive in that POS, and learn how to save money. i would do that even if i was a millionaire. responsibility is something very few people ever learn in their lifetime.

The 1989 CRX didn't even come out until after I had graduated from college. But I also bought one (new) with my own money. I had that car for 12 years, until some idiot high school kid rear-ended it.

Actually, its not the fact that HS kids get an S that bothers me. Its when kids in high school are consistantly given all sorts of things and they have no appreciation for their hard working parents. I used to have a friend that did not have to pay a dime during high school. Half way through college, her mother had cancer and could not work any longer. She suddenly had to cut off her daughter with tuition, to save more money in the long run. Instead of supporting her mom through rough times all she could do was hate her mom for not giving her money. People like this make me sick.....
that story makes me sick, eff that whorebag

this is to everyone hatein on me just because i drive a S in HS.......

most of you say that keeping my grades up isnt worth a S...for me keeping my grades up is staying in the top 10% of my class......
i offered to get a job and at least pay for my insurance but my parents said just keep my grades up and get a scholarship which i am pretty sure i'll get.......

what costs more a college education or a S????

so to all you haters
you're not impressing me. i was top 5% in highschool while smoking weed every single day, and bullshitting my way through school. highschool is not an education, just a gateway to higher level job training. graduated top 15% in university. guess what, numb nuts left and right too.

schools only teach you how to work for rich people. how about look into having your own business rather than having a "nice" job.
