The tonneau cover...

I put in on for the 1st time today - took me forever, the thing didn't quite want to go in to the posts.
Also one snap wouldn't come off when I tried to take it off.
Is there a trick to taking these things on/off?

With this much trouble, I am thinking of not using it...

Embarrasing, but... when I had the Chrysler LeBaron convertible , the boot took less than a minute to put on...

I have one snap that gives me trouble too, But it does get faster and faster everytime you do it. That being said, I only use it when I'm going cruising for a while, and know I woont have to put the top up.

I spent 15 minutes trying to get the boot on and then said forget it. I have yet to use it and doubt I will in the future.

I use it when I know I am going out for a while... it gets easier the more you use it. There's always one that's harder to get on.

Been quite lucky lately, has been almost 4 weeks since the last time I had my top up. Would not be caught without the boot. Top looks terrible laying in a big high pile on the back of the car.

Mine's still in the plastic wrapper, but I'm considering trying it out over the summer.

I ususally try to take off the last snap by reaching in with both index fingers and turning it while tugging slightly. It definitely got easier over time.

I used to have problems with the tabs staying in place as well. Now, I simply push the middle of the cover down where the tabs are to somewhat shape the cover to fit better. I haven't had the problem since.

I only use the cover when I will have the top off for a long drive.

For the first six months I found it impossible to use the boot cover or tonneau cover, whatever you want to call it. Then one day I assisted the motor as my top went down. All of a sudden, the snaps were properly exposed and it went on and off in a couple of minutes.

If the snaps seem "buried" and hard to get to, try using your hand to aid the retraction of the top. That did the trick for me.

By the way, it doesn't seem to matter whether or not I have something folded in the outer rear window as to whether or not the top retracts properly.

I've used mine 4-5 times since Oct. '99; however, it's spent the majority of its time under my pool table, lying nice and flat.

It doesn't rain where I live from about now till November. I plan to put the boot on and not take it off until winter. I have put it on many times over the last few months and I must say I can put it on in about 1 minute now. The first time I tried it took me 20.
