Default How many of you??

Just curious as to how many of you vtec'd your S2K before the breakin (600 miles, 1000 kms).
If so, have you experienced any problems afterwards? Is it also true that it voids your warranty if you do Vtev before the breakin...How do the dealerships know if you did?

Thanks,

I didn't vtec before the break in period but if you do, it doesn't void your warranty.

i don't know about s2000 owners but people that I know that owns Honda did it and no probs.. I mean people that don't really know about cars go pretty high in RPM right after they get it. My friend that just got his new civic told me that he was going 120 on highway to test out his car.. I'm like that's pretty bad for your car.... his like " oh really"... My other friend that just got an accord said he was flooring his accord through "great Vines" because he said his car was slow through the hills..

No VTEC during the break-in.

I think there is a thread not long ago reguardin this. A lot of people mentioned that having vtec once or twice is not too harmful. In fact the mechanics in the dealership or the manufacturer probably have vtec it a few times for testing purposes. Try doing a search on breakin.

I had not yet found this board, nor had I looked at the manual. I VTEC'ed mine during the test drive, at the instructions of the salesman. The car only had 6 miles on it! And I VTEC'ed it a time or two more prior to sitting down and reading the manual.

I freaked out completely when I found this board a couple of months after getting mine, but I really don't think that I caused any harm. If I did cause harm, I wonder how long it would take for it to show up? I've not had a single problem since...

i accidentally vtec'd it to BARELY after like 500 miles or so. As soon as I hit 6xx miles I was hitting 9k rpm all day long.

Did not hit higher rpm's until after the 600 mile limit, as suggested in the owner's manual. Better safe than sorry.
BTW, jelliotlevy stands for Joseph Elliot Levy - the Levites were one of the twelve tribes of Israel. You can probably guess where I stand on the Palestinian homicide bombing issue. Can we stay on topic here, discussing our S2000's and leave Yasser Arafat and his dreck and his exploding friends somewhere else?
