I'll definitely let you know how long it lasts. I bought it with 250 miles, immediately drove it hard, and put the turbo on at 8000 miles. I now have about 12k. I'm still in the process of tuning and I'll keep trying to get more and more power out of it. I average 10k+ per year and I'm hoping for around a 75% increase on a stock engine(420 crank). If it works out that way, I'll be looking at about 40k miles...

On another note, I turbocharged my other car at 120k miles. The tranny blew at 130k (It had been slipping on the 1-2 shift since 75k miles and I had been waiting for it to die). I'm now at 145k miles with ZERO reliability/durability engine problems related to the turbo. 25k driven HARD on a car that already should have been nearing the end of it's expected life.

IMO, a turbo done right will probably shorten engine life, but if maintained properly that difference shouldn't be significant. If the turbo car is abused or not tuned properly or not built well, I believe the difference in engine life would be VERY large. I would assume the engineers use a factor of safety of 1.5 to 3 when designing and building a motor to help prevent damage due to abuse and extreme conditions.
