I feel like I might have done this already, but oh well!

2002 Honda S2000
Color: Nurburgring Blue
Miles: 50,000
Price: $16,000 + $2,000 Warranty
Full Blue leather seats, all stock. Purchased from a scummy used car dealer. Car was in immaculate condition, dealer's customer service is non existent after you hand over your money though.

MY: 2004
Color: New Formula Red
Miles: 60,000
Adds: K&N FIPK, Invidia Cat Delete, Invidia Cat Back, Enkei PF01s, new top, Coil-overs (and all of the original parts)
Pric: $17,000

Returned it to original suspension and exhaust (kept the intake, wheels, & cat delete & sold the coil overs & loud @$$ exhaust). Net cost, $16K.

Value to me? Priceless!

Year: 2006
Color: Silverstone
Interior: Red/Black
Miles: 45K
Price: $19K

Very good condition. Was also able to find an OEM hardtop (matching color!) that I had to pay $3300 for. But I think it'll be worth it!

First post and obviously very new to the forum.
Long story short, my father-in-law bought his 2008 brand new just over 6 years ago.
Hasn't driven it in the last 1 1/2 years and decided he wants to get rid of it.
Asked my wife if she wanted it so she asked me if I was interested taking it off his hands.
So now I have the unfortunate task (sarcasm) of flying out to Houston and driving it back to LA with my middle son.

The car:
Year: 2008
Color: New Formula Red
Interior: Black
Miles: 8000 miles
Price paid: Cost of gas, food, and one night hotel stay somewhere between Houston and Los Angeles - hopefully in AZ.

He had AAA come out this week and replace the battery and check the tires.
He drove it around the neighborhood and says it drives fine.
Also claims it had the oil changed just before he stopped driving it 18 months ago.

The car was completly stock when purchased but has a small patch on the soft top. Clean title.

New to the s2ki--thought i'd start here. Loving this new car.
That's a good price. Seems California has the inflated prices. Texas has good prices but I heard titles can be washed there so I stay away at looking at cars from there. I think Illinois too. You can put a new engine in and it's not labelled as rebuilt. I been looking but I think I will wait until close to November. No rush for me, had a 04 in 05. Now want a 06 maybe 07.

There can be some wide/wild price differences! Pristine, pure stock cars seem to bring premium prices in some locations and folks who insist on all "matching numbers and stickers" should be prepared to pay more. I did! All my talk and intent last summer about keeping the car pure stock has evaporated but I've saved all the OEM parts (intake and exhaust mainly) for the next owner if there ever is one.

I specifically wanted an '06 or later for stuff like DBW, VSA, etc. And I was willing to pay a premium to get it. There are so few cars here in Ohio I had to be careful dickering on the price so it didn't get away for my lack of spending another $1,000 or so.

Paid $20,000 last summer with 38,500 miles on the odometer. Reconditioned OEM AP2V2 wheels (sold the RPF1s that were on the car) and new RE-11A tires bumped the cost to $21,000.

You can't beat that deal!
Be sure to let your FIL take the car for a spin whenever you get together.

He's 80 right now so it may be best if I take him for a drive.
I doubt he's ever rev'd the engine more than 4000-5000 rpm during his time with the car.
We definitely have more interesting roads here in LA than what he had access to in Houston.

Your FIL sounds like one pretty cool person. Buying a new S2K in his middle 70's is impressive. Nice that the car is being kept in the family...links the generations.
