Insurance costs vary greatly depending on a number of factors. Location is the greatest factor.

Since you are in CA, this topic may answer your question:

1500 bucks a year- and that's with a clean record and multi-car family discount with progressive.

South Florida is to blame for that one...same policy in, lets say, Raleigh Duram, NC costs 520 bucks a year.

$672 a year... State Farm... top coverage, <7,500 miles a year... married... over 25, as are all drivers. No license points or accidents for what seems like forever.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm 18 and I've had 2 speeding tickets in the past 2 years and a fix-up ticket, how much will the insurance be if I had it under my mom's name but my name as the second driver? Is $2000/year reasonable for 2 speeding tickets but no points on my license? Anything would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Well, it's reasonable for California standards considering your age and tix; but then nothing is reasonable in Calif. when it comes to issues like this.

I pay $1100 for full coverage, clean record from CSAA, which to me is reasonable.
