Default How much money to fix this?

Ok, i was just wondering how much it would cost to fix this? damage to the rear quarter panel

Year: 2001
Miles: 89k
Title: Salvage (front side collision)
Cost: $8,000
Sounds like a good deal? could i go cheaper?

Also how much do you pay for insurance? just looking to buy one way, car will be under my fathers insurance with good history (5 cars and house insurance with StateFarm)

How much do you think it would cost if i got my own insurance? one way. I'm 20 and had a light accident when i was 16. Never had a speeding ticket.

Mods: Amuse replica front lip, rear lower tie bar, red emblems, front strut bar, k&n drop in filter, yellow ek fogs, clear front headlamps, clear side markers, apexi dual exhaust, aftermarket shift knob, clarion headunit. I would say all these mod cost at least over 1grand

This will be my third car if i decide to purchase it. I had an 00' Prelude then sold it for the new 08' Altima Coupe. But i miss the V-Tec, so i want a play around car. Always wanted an s2k...

Sounds like a great deal from the looks of it, but who knows what the underlying problems are. Best thing to do is to check it out yourself. The frame might be bent from the looks of it. Call around for the insurance quote, it would be quite difficult to get a rough estimate without personal information. It takes a few minutes to fill out, try Mercury Insurance and Nationwide.

Here's a post for what to look for when purchasing a s2000 if you haven't seen it already: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=590849

i would still hire someone to look at the frame, it could be a easy fix but the damage is under the body, from the pic it looks like it got hit good. the right light looks like it is also is out of place. get a pro to take a look first

I looked at Progressive and its about 65 dollars a month for liability under my own name. Better then what i thought it would be. But for some reason all the other sites like StateFarm, Allstate, Nationwide was looking at like 250-400 a month...

i've had damage to a rear quarter on the exact location that cost me $900 to fix. though, i didn't have any inspections on the frame damage. but for 8k, that def sounds like a good deal since the visible damage isnt too bad.

New from the factory, that tail light is about $250 and the bumper cover is about $400, if it needs to be replaced. You might save $75 or so by locating a used tail light, the shipping on the bumper cover makes buying a new one more economical.

You can pull that fender out but it's never gonna look like new again.

So assuming you need both the bumper cover and the lamp, you're already getting close to $700 + labor + paint and other supplies. I'd be surprised if you came out for less than $1200.

Well it's got a salavge title due to a "front collision."

The front and rear bumpers on these cars just aren't easy to align. Hell, half of 'em came from the factory with weird gaps.
