Had a valve adjustment done yesterday at Kiwi Motors in Santa Clarita (they specialize in Hondas). Cost was $80.92: $67.50 for labor, $12.40 for a gasket and $1.02 for tax.

Much better than the SHO or the Millenia. Our S2000 is a highly maintainable design. Slightly off topic, but I once read up on the replacement of the thermostat in the VW Phaeton W12 engine. That requires major disassembly of the engine, and costs waaaaay more than $1000. I remember the good old days when a thermostat replacement required a simple gasket, a simple thermostat insert, and a can of gasket glue - maybe $5.00 in parts and 20 minutes of do it yourself. I continue to be impressed that mechanical maintenance of the S2000 is not qualitatively more complicated than mechanical maintenance of Grandma's Civic.

PM Supertech or Racerdre. They are both in socal.

Both are well known techs that have knowledge and experience with the S2000. Rates are cheaper than the dealer by far.

2 hours at a dealer is a reasonable estimate, even though a competent mechanic could do it in much less.. I do mine in about 60 minutes now, taking my time the whole way while scratching my butt, getting a drink, etc.

Thx.
Evasive motorsports in SoCal did mine for $100. They are super reputable and do great work.
The reason why it takes so long in some cases is because the motor needs to be fully cool before the adjustments are made
