Wow you guys are dedicated, how long do most plan on keeping your cars? If you plan on keeping it for years I can understand but if it's a lease or you flip your cars every 3,4,5 years why go to all that effort ? The next guy benefits from this not you.
Maybe because its the right thing to do?

Do you leave your buggy out in the middle of the parking lot at Wal-Mart or do you actually take the the time to walk it to the buggy return? I bet I can guess.

On a slight tangent, the previous owner of my GP white S, claimed that by switching from Mobil 1 to Shell Helix (oil names may differ depending on your respective countries) the VTEC 'switchover' was more pronounced (more aggressive).

Anyone share this claim?

It is kinda pointless to change the oil and not the filter. Come on, its only 5(+-) bux.

You should still go by time even if its olnly 250 miles.
I change mine whenever I get a chance. Usually about every 2 months or so. I dont even drive that much. I have an 02 with 17,000 miles.
thats true. oil gets water in it, becomes acidic , eats engine seals. thats why its recommened to change earlier(3750) in short trips. you need the long trips to have the engine heat burn up the water. holla

The past 2 yrs I've done it first thing in the spring, after the winter hibernation. I've put on just about 3k miles in 03 & 04. In 02 I put on 6500 miles and changed it twice.

<---MY04 now has 7500 miles ...

I first changed oil at 3750 (differential then too), second oil change at 7000 - third will be to synthetic at 10,000...

I change my filter each time.

I also changed trans to FM syncromesh at 5000.

It's all fun.
