royal purple every 6 months... with a new oil filter.
its easy with the fumoto valve!
i drive about 5k miles a year-
i could prob go longer; but i dont mind the schedule.
and i have had this car for 5 years and will have it a bit longer, so might as well take care of it!

my schedule is also similar to poindexters.... i haven't gotten to the valve adjustment yet for my car only has a little over 12k miles on it..... and i use mobil 1 synthetic and i still change my oil and filter around 3000 to 3500 miles.... depending on if i have time or not.... and i check my oil levels if i drive the car hard...

Oil & Filter
Every 1,000 miles or 3 months or a Sunday afternoon with nothing to do, whichever comes first.*
Oil: Mobil1 Synthetic
Filter: Honda PCX
Quantity: 5.5 quarts
Why: Because I like doing it and it can't hurt.
How long to keep car: Forever, if possible.

Transmission & Differential Fluids
Every 10,000 miles.
Why: See above.
How long to keep car: See above

*Fumoto valve makes oil changes very easy.

Annually.
If I drove more, it would be every 3,000 miles.

I agree that it takes hot oil to drive off the water, but I doubt you'll get the oil hot enough to actually "burn" any water. Water is what you get when you do burn hydrogen.

I knew ralper would find this thread!

I'm at 31K miles. I change roughly every 3K miles or so. Usually before a long trip. Mobil 1 (after 11K miles). I use the PCX filter now; used to use a Fram X2.

thats true. oil gets water in it, becomes acidic , eats engine seals. thats why its recommened to change earlier(3750) in short trips. you need the long trips to have the engine heat burn up the water. holla

i change my oil every 3 months or 3000 miles, whichever comes first ( i mostly hit 3 months first).

Once a year whether it needs it or not! Of course after 4 years I only have 8525 miles. Coming up on my differential and tranny fluid change this year.
