Default How often do you replace tires?

how many miles do the oem tires last?
do you replace them with oem again because of the front tires?

if you factor in a set of rear tires every year, the cost of owning the S jumps up about $500 a year? thats $40 a month? quite expensive for tires huh?

I still have the ones the car came with and I'm currently at 11,7XX miles; however, I don't drive the car much any more so .

Rears about every 3,000 miles during auto-x season, fronts once for every time I replace the rears twice. Generally I replace the rears twice, fronts once and get a whole new set after that.

With normal, non-track use, you can probably get about 12,000-15,000 miles out of the rears. Double that for the fronts. And yes, if you are keeping the fronts, you should replace the rears with OEMs (no mixing and matching tires).

My rears needed replacing at about 20K (no track miles at all). I went ahead and switched all 4 because I wanted to change to the F1 GS-D3 since we get so much rain down here.

I got almost 11k out of my first set of rears (OEM S02). Changed all 4 after another 9k miles. Didn't quite make 7k with my first set of Michelin PS2s on the rear....but had a lot of fun driving on them. On my 2nd set of rears now.

I feel sorry for S2000s that have to wear the same tires for 25-30k miles. They don't get to have any fun...

Wow! I haven't heard of one S2000 owner (except you ) that has tires that last that long. I drive very normal and my OEM tires lasted ~17K miles. I switched to Azenis RT615s and now I have to change them at 40K miles. The rears are totally shot, and I should have replaced them a lot sooner.

I don't drive hard at all, I have redlined my car since I've owned it maybe 10 times. Pathetic I know. I do drive it year round though.
