This may well be taken as heresy here, but I've only VTECed my S2000 twice. Once in 1st, then immediately thereafter in 2nd.

While it's good to know that the car is capable of such things, I get more than enough enjoyment from its handling and "non-VTEC-assisted" acceleration to keep me grinning everytime I drive mine.

I'm with spawn. I bought the S because of it's VTEC capability. I don't remember ever driving it without VTECing.
Strike that. When I back it out of the garage to wash it, I never VTEC.

You actually START IT UP just to back it out! Argggghhhhh!

If I start her up, I'm driving at least 50 miles! That much engine wear has to be worth my while! For washing, I just push her out & back.

(OK, maybe you don't have to be as anal as me! )

Back to the subject at hand = I just checked my counter: 310 VTECs / 7.5 tanks = 41.3 VTECs/Tank.

The tachometer just does not look right unless it is illuminated all the way across. I can not think of a day that I have driven the car and not ran through the first three gears at the limits.

So at a minimum 3 times a day times 3 days per week x 2 weeks ='s 1 tank of gas (or 18 VTEC's)

well, eventhough I have to fill up about every 2 days, I still manage at least 15 VTEC's in those 2 days. It would be way more, but my morning commute is heavy traffic.
