the question should be "how many times A DAY to you VTEC"...
and my answer-
as many as possible! (26+, when i am lucky!)

 

i vtec at every chance i get, probably around 40 times a day. haha

why is everyone scared to VTEC? i don't understand

 

im scared cuz its no good for the engine. i go easy on my baby

 

no need to be scared to VTEC... i do it at least 4-5 times a day or more...so on a full tank of gas that means 12-15 times. I do a lot of driving...

 

Everytime I see a stang or a "stuck up" 328/330/boxster owner.... Only the stuck up ones.....

 

I have 52k miles on my engine, vtec every day as soon as i get three bars. sometimes before then if i can get away with it. I overrev her at the track and autocross regularly while downshifting. The only problems I've had are in the drivetrain; the engine is still in tip top shape like new!

To help you understand, I VTEC if necessary. But not often.

Litto VTEC, approx. 230 miles, full tank.
Lotso VTEC, approx. 180 miles, full tank.

That's why I don't VTEC often...
