Default How To Prevent Bumper Damage From Dumb People?

I am getting more and more nurveous about my car because I might be moving back to East Coast and my car will be DESTROYED when parallel parked. I had new paint job on my prelude some time ago and in 1 month cracks and scratches on bumpers from people backing into it and playing bumper cars in the midle of Boston.

Now every one would think that the best solution is to find and park as far away from people as possible, well that didn't work well, A Silver civic had 1/2 car length between him and I and he still backed up too far, hit the bumper pulled out and drove away. Long story short left my front bumper trashed completely. I bet you he was drunk, it was at Jillians.

So now that my S2000 will be going back to "hell" I would like to prevent my bumpers from being destroyed, MY THOUGHT was to have track tow hooks installed and I think they stick out further then the bumper, right? So people will hit them first. What are your thoughts? Any way to prevent or lower the chances of people destroying my car?

I know Dings isn't much I can do about. Just dont need my S2000 looking trashy.

I like the beater idea, but since some people cannot afford a beater, I would say the tow hooks are a good idea as well. It might save you a lite bit anyway.

I really like the tow-hooks idea. It may be my excuse to get that red J's tow-hook I've always wanted for the front. Any cool non-oem hooks I can use for the back?

Sounds like a good reason not to move there.
