Hi, i take out my stook on nice days in winter and am wondering what i should apply to the roof for protection. I believe i was told the Porsche and BMW top protectants were the best ones.

Any others? Any idea on cost? I don't want these dealers to overcharge me.

Thanks in advance.

I got the Porsche top protectant for slightly under $15, but haven't used it yet.

No, if I remember correctly I got it from Classic Motoring Accessories... there's a link to them at www.autopia-carcare.com

Sev,

I also recommend 303 Aerospace Protectant. It works great on our PVC fabric tops. My top is black again and the water beads.

It is also available from the same vendor that Jay listed.

I can't speak for the Porsche Top Protectant but have used the Porsche Shampoo prior to using the 303. It works well but for stubborn stains on the top, use a brush and Simple Green. Careful though, Simple Green will strip your wax!

The 303 is excellent stuff with many uses. I have used it on deck furniture, tires, and other vinyl surfaces.

Sev, go to Lauzon Porsche in Laval they have in stock the wash-shampoo and the top conditioner (spray. The shampoo costs $11.85
and the spray $20.54. I recently used the Porsche products and I'm very satisfied.

The Porsche treatment may be the balls, but the 303 Aerospace Protectant really does the trick.

When I went in for the rear window replacement, my local Honda service tech complimented me on how great the top looked and asked me what I was using!
