Default How to pull a s2000 engine by yourself

Just wanted to share this for those who want to do it in the future. This is in my opinion the easiest way to remove the engine. Excuse the hiccups. It's the first time trying it this way and alone. Lol.
All I would do now it bolt the cradle back up. Once the motor is rebuilt I can just drop the cradle and line it right back in.

Any feedback would be great.

I got bored watching the first two minutes of an unattended camera mindlessly recording as people casually walk around the car and no action takes place. Not gonna watch 16 min of that waiting for when you actually show the work. Editing would be helpful.

But I did see the car is in a shop on a lift. That isn't my definition of by myself. A lift isn't something most have access to.

Agreed.
Some dialogue at the very least would be somewhat useful. I didn't even get through 2 min.
Also agreed on the lift comment. Nor exactly a DIY.

It's my first video of sorts. I'll try to talk on the other ones. I'll try the install without a lift just to see if I can help the community

All the successful engine extractions I've seen have the engine + gearbox come out the bottom (along the front subframe). Likewise putting it back in. Requires a lift.

Here's the Speed Academy guys putting an AP2 engine in their BADASS2000 race car from the top. Or trying to, the video title is a spoiler. First part of the video is fitting the oil pan. They ruined their first engine with too much sealer "goop" hence the need to replace the engine.

taking out an engine is a tentative and nerve wracking experience- its just odd as you start removing engine mounts and then next thing you know...its free of its old home. Go slow and be methodical.

LHT Performance just made a video on this exact topic last week:

Actual engine drop starts at 1:40

I have swap out the engine many time all by my self in my garage at home with no lift. I first pull the transmission then pull the long block out from the top with a standard cherry picker.

i pull the front bumper, set up the front cross member on jack stands... then pick up the vehicle with the cherry picker from the front bumper support. then using a jack I drop the subframe onto 2 furniture dolly's and roll out the entire subframe.. engine/tranny out within 1.5 hours
