How to put the top down?

i secure them, never had problems with it getting caught, but if i ever do i would just unlatch it on the way down and then latch it again.

You should latch them back tightly after releasing the top. If you don't, on occasion the latches will dangle and get caught in the top and tear your top when you put it back up. Seriously, this happens, do a thread search. It's $1000 or so to replace the soft top, less to patch it of course, but why spend that money at all when you can prevent it with an additional second of effort?

Plus they rattle when you don't secure them.

I'm a friggin' idiot I do relatch them! I just got so into the habit I did not even realize it. I can see how what I said above doesn't make much sense after looking at how the latches work
