Why the defensive reply?

I don't think looking to Corvette sales is a logical way of estimating S2000 sales. TOTAL S2000 sales in North America to this point is a little over 35,000 units. Who knows how many of those are totalled

Hockey has a point. People need to educate themselves and see that the domestic are companies are producing pieces of junk. The resale value of a domestic doesn't even come close to a Honda or Toyota, reliability and dependability is no where near a Honda or Toyota and the domestics cost you more to own. And if you think about it, why do you think they are offering thousands of dollars off with rebates and incentives?, not to stimulate the economy but because they know that their products are junk and that they need to sell their over prices products at their true value, not the marked up value. Its all about value and the domestics don't have any.

Consider this:

As of Q3 2003 there were about 6800 S2000s sold in the US compared with 8500 last year.

For the sake of argument lets take the higher number and round it up to 10K/year sold in North America.

X 4 years = 40K TOTAL in North America. Considering that the numbers this year are gonna be lower this number is probably pretty close given an average.

Now lets take the 350Z. In its first year of production the car sold about 50K units - thats as many S2000s as 350zs on the road in 1 year!. If Nissan sold the 350Z for 4 years there'd be 4X the # of Zs as S2000s on the road.

I'd say the S2000 is pretty rare given these figures...not Enzo rare but rare none the less.

Comments? Disputes on my #s?

Edit:

I'm revising my numbers down. Honda officially has sold 29,563 S2000s through Aug '03
