I've had no problems with my tranny in my MY2000 model. Maybe I am just lucky, but I didn't read about any significant problems with the tranny at all (and no problems with the clutch or differential, nothing wrong with the 4th cylinder, etc.). Do you have a thread reference if it was posted on this board? I don't read every message posted, so I may have missed it.

I think hondas are more solid and reliable than a lot of cars that cost more. My parents had a few minor problems with 2 of the 3 BMW's that they owned over the years, and they only kept them for a few months. The engine catching on fire was a fairly large "minor" problem, though.

I have had absolutely no problems with the transmission on my 01 to date (7,000 miles).

Build quality is excellent for a $32k car. Car is just as tight as my brother-in-law's crappy Z3. If you want superior overall performance and quality buy a 911 for triple the money.

You really can't compare with other hondas, as Mav said, we go down a different production line.

My moms 98 V6 accord that we got the first week it came out had no problems.
Maybe it's the NYC potholes that jarred it lose.

And my brother 92 civic DX sedan ( looks crappy) doesn't have any rattle problems.

Even though there may be some legitimate problems with the the clutch and transmission, my gut feelings are, some people don't know how to drive the car and some like to take off in VTEC. Just my opinion from things I have read here.

The inner front federwell was cracked by an overtightened screw. Have not bothered to have it fixed yet, other than that, after 8k miles no problems except now the driver's window will not go down automaticly with the top.

I've got around 9000 miles on my MY2000 that's just two years old right now. No rattles, no problems. I'am a happy camper.

Tochigi rocks. It is totally cool to have a car from the same factory as the NSX.

I had the pleasure the other day to park next to an NSX and admire them together. Even after about 12 years, the NSX still looks as beautiful to me as it did originally. Wish I had the $$ to have one in my stable!

My civic rattles like a tin can filled with marbles, but my s2000 is rattle free even at high speeds. I do have a concern with the paint. At 4000 miles I have 6 paint chips on the front bumper, hood, and front fender. What is the deal with the paint??? It looks nice, but seems to be really suseptable to stone chips (my civic is 8 years old and only has a few more stone chips).
