just take a minute to find the engagement point of the clutch before you take off

i just had the exact opposite experience. going from a s2000 to driving a friends six speed jeep. those long throws felt weird and the clutch pedal seemed super high off the ground. although it seemed much easier shifting from 1st to 2nd. i have a difficult time rev matching just right in my s2000 from 1-2 for some reason.

Thanks guys,
The test drive went great, this car is VERY EASY to drive. Everything feels so natural and the engine sound when shifting at 8K is just beautiful music to my ears. Its a 2005

Engaging the clutch at the precise rpm 2nd gear wants for your wheel speed as the revs fall. Rev matching when going up in the gearbox is all about timing, whereas downshifting is about your blips in addition to timing.

This thread makes me happy, lol! OP posted a relatively simple question and rather than everyone hound on the guy and say stupid things, everyone gave a good response.

Congrats on the purchase too!
