i had my mugen shipped from delaware to arizona, so here's my advice and i think it has already been stated.

have him drop it off at a packing place that does crating. they'll pack it up right and send it on its way for you. you can also hold this responsible is somethng goes wrong.

but it's not cheap. i think for the hood and hardtop, i paid something like $300, but it's been a while so it's hard to remember.

The BEST way to ship it is to my address!

Would that be dangerous (as in shipping damages) to do it from New York to Las Vegas? Thanks for the help!!! What does "$1/#" mean? Thanks Munckee!
$1/# = one dollar per pound.

I believe thats what they charge. I have no idea how exactly it works. IF they'll let you guys load and unload it without touching it in the middles, and IF you were gutsy, then I suppose you could wrap it up really well and have him put it on the bus. Then you could pick it up.

I'm not recommending this, just offering it as a desperate possibility. I don't know exactly how Greyhound works.

I've also used Old Dominion as well.

What about going to a local Honda dealer and picking up or asking them to hold a hardtop packaging setup for you (if they ever get one ) and then re-use the OEM boxes and such for shipment.

Or just build a bomb-proof box to put it in.

Get it crated and then ship with Bax Global. They handle freight like this all the time. The usually have one location somewhere near the airport in most cities.

I'm with you...have them crate it...because if something where to go wrong and you packed it yourself that is the first thing that the claims dpt will state...I went through this with a set of wheels that I packaged myself and shipped
