Wy not ship both seperately? I know it's a pain, but atleast they'll get there undmaged and safe. Tires could be wraped in tape to keep them together, and the wheels could go back in their original boxes. Just a thought.

^ good info. I just recently sent out some rims with tires mounted. Wrapped them up with a roll of shrink wrap and some cardboard. Got there no problem, definitly the way I would ship.

I have shipped wheels with tires installed several times.
I used double thick cardboard box from U-Haul store. Cut a circular piece for each side of the wheel.
I then used the packing foam paper stuff and put about two layers of that over the face of the wheel to prevent scratches etc. Then run tape from the center of the card board circul all the way around the tire and to the other side. Do this all the way around the wheel.

Then insure them through UPS or something. Ship each wheel seperately and it will cut down on cost as the more weigh they charge more.

Does it matter if I release the air in the tire or leave it?

I might just use the cardboard cut out method since it seems to be the consensus and is so much easier.

I have used a large box with cardboard in between the wheels. Four wheels in two boxes.
