I hate those 'headlight washers' :-( Anyone managed to remove them (and have the car look OK)? I'd love to get rid of them.

So that's why the US model weights 2 more kg than the Aus model - must be the cruise control. Though, we have the CD player. I guess us Ausies were the only ones who were though to need they CD stackers :-)

Are there any differences between the 2000 and 2001 cars?

In Aus, 2001's come with the clock in the radio display, wind deflector and I think carpets.

Also, the CD changer is now mounted in the secret compartment I believe and holds 8 disks although I haven't seen it yet.

Apart from these minor changes the 2001 is basically the same car. Oh, except it's now available in Yellow.

All S2K's have an Immobilizer. ( at least in NA ) it's that little green key thing that flashes when you pull the key out of the ignition. They don't however come standard with an alarm system. Funny thing was for quite a while I thought mine did untill I tried to prove it to another owner by unlocking my door from the inside and opening the door. Nothing happened....I was shocked

NJHB,

You forgot the headlamp washers, F20C2 engine
My UK spec. 00 (Sept 99) came with drilled pedals with rubber bungs,
Titanium alloy gearknob. (Are you sure yours is aluminium?)
Honda logos on wings,
Clear headlights,
Container to make a cigarette ashtray, which pulls out to be a cup holder!,
nets behind seats + nets on transmission tunnel.
Full leather (some Japanese / Asian models are half leather seats).

+ most of what VA S2K mentioned minus:

Cruise control
Aero screen (option)
alarm (option, now std)
CD player(option),
Mats (option), buy Muz'z instead.

As you can see the gearknob, 90,000 mile warranty, clear corners, seat nets, logos, STRIPPING OUT CRUISE CONTROL , etc is why we pay more 'list' but on the road (OUT THE DOOR) but with the current exchange rate / taxes, most US states are paying more!(Especially California?)

Can you believe that!!!!

Still cheaper in Holland / Belgium though

~

What..... ya mean to tell me that 2000 model S2K's didn't have carpet - THAT's why the Aussie model's are lighter than the US models DavidM !!!!

FYI, the 2001 US S2000 also comes with a clock in the radio display, wind deflector and s2000 embroidered floor mats. But, Honda raised the MSRP $300 to 'cover' for these additions! Guess it doesn't really matter about the cost though - as these are the three 'first options' I suppose many S2000 owners would do to their car.

I'm SOOOOOOOOOO glad that the US S2000's didn't get those ugly headlight washers. They look like a mole on your skin!

Cheers
