How is visibility....
How is the visibility out of the S2K, especially with the new glass rear window. The new glass one looks quite a bit smaller than the older plastic one. i also know there are quite sizeable blind spots but I was wondering what the visibility was like in everyday driving...???
Still trying to decide between the S2K and Z3 Coupe.
Thanks!!

Loyed, the Z3 Coupe and the S2000 are different animals, it's up to you whether you want a convertible or not. Personally, I think the S2K has a major blind spot with the top up. Of course, this is the case for most roadsters. Remember though, the car was meant to be driven with the top down.
i've got an 02. there are definitely blind spots with top up... but just takes a little getting used to. there are a couple of strings on door mirror accy to improve visibility. i use a cheap pepboys stick on convex mirror and it does the job.
btw most people don't know how to properly adjust outside door mirrors. i read an article in a bimmer mag that went over the right way to get the most out of all three mirrors. took some getting used to but very effective in minimizing blindspots.
i don't think the s2k blindspot is a very good decision criteria on what car to buy. i have owned e36 m3 a 540i sedan, and currently have a 540iT (so i like BMW), but chose s2000 because it feels lighter, a bit "raw", and is more minimalist like I think a true sports car should be.
I haven't driven a z3 coupe so i can't do a direct compare. i'm sure it fast and a great handling car... but i'd bet it doesn't "feel" as much like a sports car.
just my opinion. - marc
