Hydroplaned on the Highway
Hey guys,
I recently got into an accident on the highway, I hydroplaned and pulled a 360 into the divider. Thankfully I was not hurt, but the right rear bumper hit the divider and was pretty messed up. Needless to say, I brought the car into my body shop, where i was told everything was aligned correctly, and they had also put on espelir springs which i had been meaning to put on.
Now, about 1 month later, I can hear almost a rattling noise coming from the right rear wheel-well when I brake hard. Acceleration, and handling feels fine though...
Any idea whats going on?
(sorry if this is in the wrong forum)--Mike.

So, you jacked it up, took off the wheel, looked in there and saw...what?
Initially, I'd assume it's a brake problem and check the brakes and pads.
Then a visual inspection of the suspension. Then I might take it to a shop with an alignment rack, get them to use the special alignment lift to lift the car on it's suspension then do whatever wiggle testing they normally do to look for broken or worn suspension parts prior to alignment.

I think XViper would tell you that we don't have enough information to tell you what's causing the noise. Like Ek9 said, you need to get the car up in the air and have a professional check for damage and wear.
Anything else would just be a guess on our part.
Good luck with it, and keep us posted.

thanks for the feedback guys---i realized that my description was vague, but was hoping someone had a similar incident...anyway it was a stretch...
just confused bc this body shop does very good work, which makes me wonder if its just the aftermarket springs causing this problem...

I haven't heard anyone complain of strange noises after installing Espiler springs. Does the car drive OK? Did you have it aligned after the springs were installed? Do you feel anything when you hear the noise, or is it just a noise? Not that it will help us nail down your problem to know those things, but I'm curious.
