To my knowledge there are no major changes planned for the s2k next year. And I know the debate over whether or not the car will be discontinued has been beaten to death.

Let's say Honda were to make a S2000 R or whatever.

1. What improvements would you like?

Personally something like the NSX's 290 hp and 250 ft. lbs torque. Increase dimensions about 4 inches all around keeping the same shape. Better sound system. Lined top. Vented/crossdrilled brakes for the rear. I know Honda can't do this because it would infringe on the NSX domain.

2. How much would you be willing to pay for the improved car?

For something that would be a Boxster basher which would approach 911 performance, I'd pay 40k-45k

Opinions?

The S will never come from the factory as a Boxter bashing 911 competitor. That's the NSX's job.

Search for the old "S2000 Type R" thread (NOT the recent "S2000R" threads) for a great, and more realistic, set of wishful-thinking performance upgrades.

Some people had hypothesized about adding a 6cyl to combat the low torque #'s, but I think that would ruin the car's near perfect balance ratio. Most people complain about the car's low rpm power, but to put it in perspective if your accelerating quickly your in vtec range within a couple of seconds then shifting correctly keeps you in the vtec range. Don't get me wrong though, I'm always on a quest to find more available power.
