The problem is most younger drivers have never or rarely driven RWD drive vehicles especially those who have only driven imports. You should see what my pickup truck does in the wet weather if you think the S is bad. I love breaking the rear end loose shifting from first to second while in a turn, especially if I have a passenger. Hell even my wife loves this part of the car's attitude and all she drove for the first 17 years was front wheel drive cars. I haven' had the pleasure of driving the car in the snow but I am sure i will have a blast with it. It is all in the experience of the driver with RWD cars in my opinion.

When I first got my S, I had been reading these forums, and I was scared to death to take my car out in the rain. Well, after driving in showers, thunderstorms and wet roads, I don't see what all the fuss was about. I mean, I just drive a little more carefully. I still VTEC occasionally (in the rain), but take it easy on corners and turns, and I have yet to break the back end loose. All that is needed is a little common sense and caution.

I am betting that there was a need to not only wipe down the car, but to do a washing!

Please ALL WHO READ THIS THREAD!!!

Take Note!!! This car is not for kids!! This car is not for Amatures. This car is not for "showing off"!

This is a dangerous car in the hands of someone who has little driving experience, and it's just this side of dangerous for those who do. Unless you are driving this car at it's limits all the time, you do not know all the circumstances that will cause it to behave adversely.

Just DRIVE CAREFULLY!!!

s2kvancouver, since you're from Vancouver. Go check out the Pacific Northwest forum.

Vancouver's weather can be unpredictable especially when it's wet, the pavement can be very cold. Moist on the ground + cold wind = disaster. It's the very reason why there are so many street racers dying on the road (+ racing over train tracks). If you're going to punch her make sure 1. you know the road well 2. sunny or drive for at least 4-5hrs.

take it easy - once you get the hang of the car you'll be able to get it to do almost anything

Same thing happened to me about 15 years ago. I was driving a '80 civic and an idiot took a left hand turn right in front of me. I probably decelerated to 30mph by the time I hit him square in the passenger door. Spun him around 180 degrees in the air. I blacked out for a few seconds. He took the rear view mirror off with his forehead. No real bodily injuries thanks to some good seat belts.

Damage to a 1980 civic $4,500!!!!!. In the S, you'd be taking $15K+. The frame would be toast. You'd have to replace the engine probably. In the civic, the front end was smashed against the engine so hard it snapped the spark plugs off. The parts list of items to replace was 3 pages long. When you T-bone somebody the car has to absorb all of the impact, unlike in a glancing blow. The S would destroy itself to protect you. Be glad the S can stop so quickly.

BTW....You.... Guys......Crack....me....up...!!!!
