As far as I can tell, depending on the millage you want, an '02 may not be much more expensive than an '01, it wasn't in my case (15.9k miles at purchase).

But honestly, if you can afford 3 cars, why get an s2000? Our car will never be as practical as your civic, and if your z32 (I'm assuming its a 90+MY) is a turbo, it will never be as affordably fast. Personally I see the s2000 as one of the purest automobiles available, but so is a Miata. If you don't REALLY want the higher performance of the s2000 (because you have another fast or faster car), then you can get the roadster experience in a 99 Miata and save about ten grand.
