Car was hydroplane tonight and hit the crub. The rear wheel on the driver side broke off but still hanging on the car. I had it tow to the nearest HONDA DEALER. Engine and tranmission seem to be ok. Anyone ever had this happened to them? What should I tell my insurance company? Any kind of INFO and advice is greatly apreciated.

Thanks God I did not hit any car or even worse hurt hurt someone.

If the damage is under 2000.00 dollars I would not tell the insurance company anything and just pay out of pocket to fix it. It will cost you more to report it. Most insurance companies require you to report an accident within 24 hours so if you are going to claim it I would report it now. I would just tell them the truth if you choose to claim it.

Laws vary by state, but you may be required to report the accident to the police if there is over $xxx(x) in property damage. As I said, this varies from locale to locale.

What is this board coming to? You mean not a single person has spoken up to tell him it's the car's fault, to lie to the insurance company and try to make money off the accident? Is this still S2KI, or did I end up somewhere else?

Good advice...

To tell you the truth I wasnt speeding or drunk at the time, just a lil sleepy that's all. It was late and I have been working all day. I was going to sleep at a friend place but had to drop off a girl so I decide to drive home (very very bad decision). Either way way its my stupid fault. I reported the accident to my insurance this monring and told them what happened, now just waiting for the adjuster to call me back on monday. Hopefully I get her back soon and she still ride the same before the accident. I will let u guys know when I get her back.

Thanks all for your help.

Danny

Congrats on taking responsibility for your mistake . Hope it works out well for you. Who's your insurance agent? My Grandmother has been an agent in Dallas since before I was born...
