If safety is your concern get a BMW 3, 5, 6, or 7, or an MB.

In addition to front, door-mounted side, and side curtain airbags, they have effective stability control, brake assist, and in the case of the BMW side door beams that hook the center pillar to increase their resistance to bending. They also have roofs that can support the car.

Then the MB and some of the BMW that notify a central site if you crash, lights that use a substitute if one goes out, head lights that pivot on some BMWs and MBs, seat belt pretensioners (all around in the MB, front in most BMWs).

On some 3-series BMWs and all non-high performance MBs you can get AWD.

Yes Audis (VW), Volvos (Ford), etc. have some safety equipment. But those are the ones I would buy. It is what my wife drives.
You get the picture...

yeah... most of the time when you make a Left turn and get T-boned, you are supposed to yeild right of way unless it was a protected left or a 3-way-signal or something.

Good to know you are ok... drive safe out there and know the rules of the road.

Thanks for posting. It give me some perspective and I'll try to be a little more vigilante while driving the S based on everyones feedback.

My wife drives an E-class for this reaon, it was a very expensive car but the value of my wife and children's safety is priceless. Its simply an insurance policy in my eyes. As was mentioned before, the cars are easily replaced, but serious trauma can scar you mentally and physically for the rest of your life.

Good luck on your recovery.

I wrecked my S Friday night. According to the dealership I did some pretty significate damage. Luckily no one else was involved and no one was hurt.

Was wondering if anybody has ever heard of anything on the rear suspension just breaking? If any one has any ideas just PM me. Thanks in advance.
