Default I finally did it...

I just signed the paperwork on a 2004 Silverstone with black/red interior yesterday. It should be here in two weeks. It's only been about twelve hours and it feels like its been two months.

I've been looking for several weeks and had two dealers trying to locate one to trade without any luck. It seems most of the dealers aren't ordering the red/black interior because they don't think it will sell. I had a good offer for a berlina black one, but I had my heart set on Silverstone with the two-tone interior. Driving home from a meeting in Pasadena yesterday, I passed a dealership that I've never considered and decided to stop and see what they had. They didn't have it in stock, but had it on allocation with the VIN# and were expecting it within two weeks.

After we struck a deal, I found out that the fleet manager of the dealership had special ordered that color combo for himself. Needless to say he was a little pissed when he found out they had sold "his" car. I thought I heard him mumble that he was going to switch to a WRX, but I seriously doubt that will happen. I felt a little bad at first, but got over it when I found out that he already has an S2000 and was only upgrading to MY04. I didn't catch his name, but if you're on the board, I hope you get another one real soon.

This is going to be a very long two weeks. I need to find something other than S2KI to keep my mind off of the wait.

Cheers,
Mike

Now you need to modify your animated .GIF file to show the correct new position of the tachometer

Congrats on finding the ultra rare SilverStone Red/Black Combo. I had the same problem up here in Northern Cali and ended up going out of state to get mine. Now I just have to wait for the damn shipping company to get it on the truck and on the way.... Grrrrr....yeah it's been a couple of days and feels like Months!!

Now that is funny.

Congrats on your purchase Reefwalker. Try and find something to consume the wait.

Congrats, reefwalker! Two weeks! Don't feel bad. I had to wait 11 weeks after ordering mine back on August 4!!! It was well worth the wait!

Congrats! I've been tossing up the idea of getting an '04, but decided to hold off 1 - 1.5 years... I want to get a bike first, and by then my '01 will have high enough mileage, and have the loan paid down enough that it makes sense to do the switch.

I used this .gif specifically because the fleet manager I mentiond already has a MY02 and likely won't swap for a WRX due to the 9k redline that he has. For me personally, the 800 RPMs lower doesn't matter as long as the overall performance is there. It's definitely there. I think that the whole discussion about MY00-MY03 vs. MY04 is somewhat academic. It's like discussing how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
