Default No Silverstone / Black combo in USA or production

Ok so about 3 weeks ago I placed an order for a Silverstone with all black interior since there where none throughout the US. I received a phone call from my dealer stating that they received a response for the order saying "Currently the Silverstone Metallic exterior color with the all black interior is not being produced." They also did not give any ETA on when these will be produced.

I called up Honda Corporate just to verify that this was the actual reason and to make sure that the Dealership wasn't 'ing me just so i would buy a car from the lot. Sure enough Honda Corporate stated the exact same thing.

Has anyone seen anything like this before or have any knowledge as to why they are doing this color combination?

Thanks in advance

I haven't heard of this, but the website will let me build one.

IIRC they build one color combination for a period of time- think it's six weeks or so. It's about halfway through the '06 model year so it's possible that the factory has already stopped making the silver/black combination.

People had the same problem with the NSX, it you tried to order a certain color after they stopped making it for that model year you just had to wait until the next model year. It always hacks people off (especially when they're dropping $90k on a car) but that's apparently the way Honda's lower production volume cars work.

That's pretty interesting...

Of course, I bought a 2005 Silverstone/Black about two months ago, and if you look at the Introductions page, so have about 25 others.

You might want to look around the Internet for a 2005 model...unless you really want a 2006. Would save you a serious chuck of pocket change, too.

Thanks for the help guys, I did find a 05 that is still on the lot for 27k with 200 miles on it. Good deal? My only concern is that it was test driven a lot and VTEC'd like crazy.
