Default I finally get my S2K!

After waiting and waiting I finally pulled the trigger.

2006 Berlina Black/ Black Interior

39,200 Miles. I know its very high but they have to to be mostly freeway miles.

The owner was a 25 year old women who had just had a baby. I think it was cared for above average.

It is in good condition. It has 3 dents rangin from the soze of a fingernail to 2 square inch dent on the Front fender. Then there are 5 or 6 door dings in the passenger side/ Nothing that a good paintless dent removal guy and a few $100's cant solve.

Then the front bumper has scrapes along the bottom from driveways no doubt. I planned on getting a Front Lip anyway and this should cover it. The seats and interior are in absolutely immaculate condition. There is nothing wrong with the interior. Even the seats show minimal wearing considering the mileage. She was very tiny and her ass didn't crush the side bolsters like mine will.

The windsheild has two chips that need to be fixed.

Besides that the front tires are ok and the rears need replacing. OEM rubber by the way.

Overall; 100% stock, 1 owner, female driven. Clean title, no accidents. Good condition that needs a little attention....... soon to be excellent Condition.

Now the best part. I picked it up for $19,200.

What do you guys think?

or.......What A Steal!!!

Add it up:

Base car - $19,200
New rear tires (good rubber) - $300
Paintless Dent Repair - $400, maybe, if they're not too bad
Front lip - $350 from a sponsor
Windshield repair - $50

That adds up to $20,300, I think, which is still a great deal on a practically new car.

I think she must have been pretty desperate to sell the car. In any case, congrats and enjoy the car!

Wow. If that's true, thats a ridiculous deal. I wouldn't worry about the mileage. I'd take 40k highway miles over 10k city miles any day of the week and twice on friday.

When I was shopping the market considered mileage was worth ~$1k/10kmi. Even factoring that in, you got a good deal.

You got a good deal, but it's more than she would have gotten for trade or carmax. Here's KBB:

Excellent
$21,600
Good
$20,110
Fair
$18,220

Great deal. I don't even count tires because they have to be eventually replaced within 12 months on an S2000 anyway.

I wouldn' worry about the scrapes on the front. The car is low, it's going to happen.

Just charge the damage to the game and enjoy the car. I wouldn't fix anything except the windshild personally.

You'd kick yourself in the butt if you get the front lip or door dings out and it just happens 2 weeks later.

I think that I paid a little more than carmax would probably give her, but not by much. I am actually going to take it to Carmax and see what they would give me. Just for shits. I think that Carmax will offer me $19,500 considering the condition the car is in. I spent 6 hours yesterday with a buddy of mine detailing the car. It was ridicilous the car looks so amazing for having 39,000 miles. The only thing that gives it away is the front bumper. Can't avoid rock chips.

I have a few questions......

What are some things every new S2k owner should know, and what are the most essential mods.

I would like gears but dont want to be in VTEC when I am cruising on the freeway at 90MPH.

Personally this is what I have planned for the car.

Definite:

Get Dents Pulled.
Get OEM AP2 Front Lip.
Get Windshield repaired.
Have my Valentine 1 Hard wired into the car in a discreet location. BTW this car has by far the worst ergonomics for mounting/powering a radar detector. It is awful, oh well.

Ipod connector, any suggestions on brands that work well? Is OEM the best way to go?

Maybe:
Used Volks.
Test Pipe.
Intake.

I know, I know. That is what I have been thinking as well. I figure if I can get the door dings and the One dent in the fender out for like $200 it would be worth IMO. I wont spend 400 though. F that.

No one thinks its a steal huh? JP
